North Carolina’s Largest Craft Beer festival is in Raleigh

North Carolina’s Largest Craft Beer festival is in Raleigh

Joseph Coupal - Wednesday, April 25, 2018

Auston Grove Apartments in RaleighBrewgaloo, the second largest craft beer festival in the United States, is coming to downtown Raleigh for two great events on April 27 and April 28. If you live in an apartment in Raleigh, NC this is a great way to finish off NC Beer Month.

There are two options for attending the festival.

If you attend the Friday Kick-Off Sampling Event Block Party, you pay a one-time admission fee of $45 for all-you-can-sample North Carolina beer and ciders. A ticket to the Saturday event gets you 25 tickets to be redeemed for either a pint (5 tickets) or a 3 oz. sample pour (2 tickets).

On Friday, you can beat the crowd and taste some special brews that will not be available during the main event on Saturday.

This event is specifically designed to showcase sours and barrel aged beers. Expect some great food trucks as well, including Arepa Culture, Stuft and Our Cheese Curd Shack. Participating vendors include Gypsy Jule and Worsky Designs. There will also be DJs playing music throughout the night. Plus, if you dress up like your favorite North Carolina beer, you might win the costume contest.

The main event on Saturday will feature over 100 North Carolina breweries, food trucks and vendors. Live bands, like Wild Fur and the Travers Brothership, will be playing across three stages. Even if sampling beers is not for you, the vendors, food and music are open to the public free of charge.

Food will not be in short supply on Saturday, with over 40 food trucks, plus great local Raleigh restaurants, to choose from.

If you are looking for a place to start your sampling on Saturday, head over to the Four Saints Brewing Company tent and be one of the first to try the first carbon-neutral produced beer, the Founding Fathers Hemp Ale.

Four Saints teamed up with Urban Offsets, a business that specializes in sustainability, to create this environmentally-friendly brew. The beer was brewed will local ingredients, and Urban Offsets created a number of carbon offset projects in North Carolina that will completely offset the carbon emissions associated with brewing the ale. Cheers to that.

Brewgaloo takes place on Friday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Celebrate NC Beer Month in Raleigh

Celebrate NC Beer Month in Raleigh

Joseph Coupal - Wednesday, April 04, 2018

Auston Grove Apartments in RaleighNorth Carolina is for beer lovers. Craft breweries flourish famously in the mountains, with urban flair in the Piedmont and with character along the coast. The number of breweries stands at more than 250 statewide — it’s hard to keep an up-to-date count with new breweries constantly rising on the beerscape, but we know that North Carolina has the highest total between Pennsylvania and Texas.

Asheville, Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Hickory — all celebrate regional beer culture with festivals, beer weeks and other events. In April 2018, Visit North Carolina and the North Carolina Craft Brewers Guild will join forces to host NC Beer Month for its sixth year.

Why celebrate North Carolina beer? Because the state is one of the best for craft brewing with unique and exceptional flavors. Medals from the Great American Beer Festival and The World Beer Cup. Raves for Ninja Porter, Death by Hops, Black Radish and Papa Jade IPA. Beer to be tasted by the flight and savored by the session. Beer that abides by the Reinheitsgebot purity law and beer that innovates on a rich agricultural heritage.
